Gary Ward Joins Burden Dare

Gary joins Burden Dare to build a Business Turnaround practice by combining his reputation for helping ailing companies within the SMI market and his ability to raise capital.  He will specialise in placing experienced Interim Managers into companies that need hands on management or additional funding for short periods of time to help them through difficult times.

Having gained an Economics degree from Lancaster University in 1980 Gary joined Dalgety Spillers Management Scheme rising to Divisional Management Accountant.

In 1985 he left to join the Granada group, initially Group Accounting Manager he became Finance Director of the Motorway Services and hospitality division in 1987 leaving in 1991 to take up the post of Divisional Finance Director for Dairy Crest the commercial arm of the Milk Marketing Board.

He left Dairy Crest in 1995 and completed his first Venture Capital backed MBO with two partners to create First Motorway Services Ltd. in early 1996.  Gary then successfully made a career out of raising money for various MBO and MBI deals in the role of Chairman, Managing Director or Finance Director.

He was also Deputy Chairman of Northwick Park and St. Marks hospitals for four years stepping off after the successful merger with Central Middlesex in 2000.… Read the rest
